Praying for Nepal. Donated 500,000 THB / $15,000 for relief efforts.
Emergency Relief for the Victims of the Nepal Quake
On April 25, 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal, killing thousands and demolishing more than half a million homes, most of them in rural areas cut off from emergency medical care. Another major quake hit on May 12. The death toll from the two quakes has risen to nearly 8600 (May 18), while the injured number in the tens of thousands. On April 30, the Year of Giving Generously transferred 500,000 THB (15,000 USD) to a fund set up by the Thai government to provide relief for the survivors of the deadliest disaster in Nepal's history. While the YOGG is focused on long-view, sustained help wherever possible, in this case I feel that Sumalee would have wanted to provide immediate help. If anyone reading this feels the urge to help, here is a good place to start.
